Thank you, Teachers!

Tomorrow is Teacher Appreciation Night at the Chicago Union home game, when they take on the Madison Radicals at 7:00 pm at Martin Stadium in Evanston. Admission is free for teachers.

Chicago Union Cares has partnerships with schools across Chicagoland. Through these partnerships, we have the privilege of working with fantastic educators like Hillary Linden.

Hillary teaches physical education at Dawes Elementary School in Evanston/Skokie District 65. She has over 14 years of classroom experience, working with kids of all grades and skill levels. She has also coached track and field, has an MS in physical education and is herself an accomplished athlete. Thanks to Hillary and the other awesome folks at Dawes, Chicago Union Cares was able to bring ultimate frisbee to their students this Spring. As we look to next school year, we will be deepening and extending our school partnerships, by working directly with students and providing professional development opportunities for educators.

Whether you’re watching tomorrow’s game in person or online, consider the myriad ways teachers make an impact. The statisticians cranking their data got their start in math classes. The photographers and videographers learned their craft in visual arts courses. And the athletes? There’s a long line of educators who have supported them along the way --- PE teachers, school coaches...health, math, English teachers, and the list goes on and on.

Thank a teacher today. See you at the Game!
