JAKE RUBIN-MILLER

YOUTH DIRECTOR

Jake Rubin-Miller is the Youth Director for Chicago Union Cares, as well as a player for the Chicago Union Team and the Team’s Youth Director. He started playing ultimate at summer camp, then in high school at Bard Manhattan, before going to college. Jake attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning Bachelor of Science degrees in Evolutionary Biology and Education Studies. He joined the AUDL (now UFA or the Ultimate Frisbee Association) in 2022.

With a background in coaching and education, Jakes brings deep experience working with kids ages 2-17 in a variety of settings, including sports, school, and social justice. He has organized and taught numerous clinics, camps, leagues, and tournaments. He is focused on including kids of all genders, racial backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses across Chicagoland. In addition to his work for Chicago Union Cares and the Team, Jake coaches the Lane Tech High School girl's ultimate team, voLTage. He is also an ABA therapist, working with preschoolers with autism to promote their autonomy and social/emotional skills.

Mimi ROdman

PRESIDENT

Mimi draws from a wide set of professional skills and volunteer experiences in her support of ultimate frisbee.

Mimi served as the Executive Director of Stand Illinois, a statewide non-partisan, non-profit organization fighting for education equity and racial justice. She led a team that innovated and scaled a suite of family engagement and social-emotional learning programs, then partnered with public schools in underserved neighborhoods across Chicagoland.

She is former partner at Kirkland & Ellis and was in-house counsel at Tribune Company. Mimi has served on numerous boards of directors, including her current appointment to the Board of Metra Commuter Rail.

Mimi graduated from the University of Chicago and Northwestern Pritzker School of Law.

Lia Bennett

Marketing/Communications Intern

Lia Bennett is a marketing/communications intern for Chicago Union Cares and the Chicago Union team. She is a sports management major at the University of Michigan with a focus in marketing. She has contributed to numerous PR committees for a wide variety of athletic and charitable-focused clubs. In these endeavors, Lia’s role had a strong emphasis on social media management. In the upcoming summer, Lia will help CUC develop and execute its marketing and communications strategy. Her role with the Union will span from volunteering at home games to drafting press releases and assisting with earned media.
